In Brief:-

The Spark Awards are the exciting new competition created to promote great design and designers and encourage people to explore their creativity. We invite everyone to participate–designers, art directors, architects, design firms, manufacturers, institutions, ad agencies, students and non-professionals may enter, interact and enjoy Sparking.

Graphics, product design, transportation and architecture are just a few of the many design categories accepted. If you or your company create great designs, don’t miss the opportunity to compete in this important event.

To accommodate the greatest possible range of designs and designers, and to lower the initial cost of entry, the SparkAwards are configured as a "two-phase" competition–just like a sports playoff series. In Phase I, entrants upload 3 images of their work and short mission statement to the Spark website.
The Jury reviews the work and selects candidates to compete in Phase II. (Last year the entries were of a very high caliber and most went on to Challenger status.) There is a double pricing structure for entrants. The Phase I median fee is $125 for professionals, $75 for design students. The "Challenger Candidates" selected by the jury have the option to enter the Phase II competition, which has a fee of $250 (students/novices- free in Phase II. Status must be verifiable). Upon payment, this group automatically places in our online show and qualifies for review by the live Jury. Winners of Phase II are awarded either a prestigious Bronze Spark, Silver Spark, Gold Spark or the ultimate Spark! Award.

Prize Amount:- Rs. 1 lakh

In Brief:-

Google reflect the ever-changing world of our users through the logo designs on our homepage. These ‘doodles’ celebrate scientists, artists, local events or special dates and are designed by our original doodler, 31-year-old, Dennis Hwang.

We’re now giving you a chance to design a doodle for us, through our doodle competition, Doodle 4 Google. If you are currently a student in any school in India (between the 1st and 10th standards), then this is your chance to have your doodle be displayed on the Google India homepage. The theme of this competition is ‘My India’. We’d love to see what your country means to you when represented in a doodle. Whether it’s music or dance, famous Indian art, Mahatma Gandhi, the Taj Mahal, cricket, our scientific achievements or the Indian people as a community- we’re interested in seeing these representations of what India means to you and how you represent it using images.

The best doodles will be voted on by a panel of judges as well as by the Indian public, and the winning doodle will be featured on the Google India homepage for a day, to be viewed by millions of people. The final winner will also win his or her very own laptop (and a technology grant for their school)!

Bluetooth Innovation World cup 2009

August 8th, 2009 archit Posted in CONTEST No Comments »

bluetooth worldcup 2009

Type:- Contest

Dates:- 1st June to 31st October 2009

Website:- http://www.bluetooth.com

Brief:-

With the Bluetooth Innovation World Cup, running from 1 June to 31 October, the Bluetooth SIG is looking for new applications and products using Bluetooth low energy technology in sports, fitness and sports-related health care applications.

The sports and fitness market is virtually untapped as far as Bluetooth technology is concerned. Devices such as heart rate monitors, pedometers, odometers and monitors that are built in to clothing and watches all require very low cost and long battery life.

Health and fitness devices tend to send short messages at relatively low frequencies (100ms to 1s update rates). Short reconnect times and low peak currents are critical as well as extremely low standby currents in order to enable button cell battery implementations with useful battery life
